Our Mission
Why we do the work we do.
Over 1.5 million children have an incarcerated parent. Our mission at Children of Color Organization (CoCo) is to support siblings, parents, and loved ones as they reintegrate back into their families and communities reducing recidivism. We exist to serve those who are affected by crime and incarceration and to restore and empower communities to live and thrive beyond the impact.
Our goal is to be a vehicle in the community that empowers families and individuals to break the cycle of familial incarceration. We are committed to healing the fracture and the breach that results from the cycle of criminal and addictive behavior passed down from generation to generation.
